Spanish publication Sport reports that Chelsea midfielder Jorginho has demanded double his wages in a new contract with the club.
The Italian national team midfielder has a contract with the team until the end of this season only. Previously, the player’s agent stated that there was no talks with other clubs, only negotiating with the “Blues”.
According to Spanish media reports, the 30-year-old wants to double his salary from £5.5m a year to £12m a year. And Chelsea are unable to meet the demand.
Barcelona are believed to be ready to enter talks with Jorginho. While Italian duo AC Milan and Juventus are also keen.
Jorginho has been at Chelsea since 2018 and has made 206 appearances, scoring 29 goals and providing nine assists.
Although the Blues are open to a small increase in salary, Jorginho has the option of negotiating with foreign clubs from January.
Barcelona are believed to be one of the side interested in the Italy international. And the Catalan giants are prepared to submit a bid to Chelsea in the January transfer window.
AC Milan have also been linked with Jorginho, while the report indicates that he could receive contract offers from other Premier League clubs.
